There is online play for some select Wii games. However, there is no headset support. I'm just warning you, the Wii's online is not as much...up to par with XBox Live or PSNetwork, so there is a high chance that you will be disappointed with Nintendo's online service.

Most people would recommend XBox Live over Nintendo Wi-Fi Play.

However, the Wii has many great single-player and multiplayer games that I'm sure you will enjoy.

The XBox and Playstation have a lot of history of being online prior to their current consoles. The Wii is Nintendo's first online console. Understandably, Nintendo has a ways still to catch up. Plus they are trying to cater to a younger and more-casual audience, so their take on online is different (as much as us mature players would wish otherwise).
