Hi my name is Jonathon and I'm from Metro Detroit, Michigan, U.S.

Yeah that's right! I'm here for one thing and one thing only!
The best RPG game of all time was Secret of Mana released in 1992 by SquareSoft for the SNES. But the sequel never made it to America.
If you do a google on Secret of Mana you realize how massive a fan base this game has. So this brings me to three questions...

1.) Why was the sequel never released on the SNES?

2.) Why hasn't the original been released online for the Wii??

3.) How can we get Nintendo to release both the original and the sequel for the Wii??? because I think it would make millions of fans the happiest people in the world. Not to mention big bucks for Nintendo.

I also could go off about how the quality of video games now days is totally lame when compared to say fifteen years ago but i'll wait on that.

This is, hands down, the best RPG on the SNES (and the best RPG I've ever played). Unfotunately, I can't see this title hitting VC anytime soon. I've e-mailed both Nintendo and Square regarding the American VC debut of Seiken Densetsu 3. They both told me that there are no plans to translate or market the game.

Realtime combat > Turn based combat.

Geez...it's just like getting anything else done in this world when it comes to giant stupid corporations. Virtually Impossible. I guess they really think they know what's best?! But if that was the case they'd have a lot better games and 3rd party developers for the Wii by now wouldn't they? I've always been a die-hard Nintendo fan and have stayed true never buying another console...but these game designers now days sure need to go back to school if they think that by just making a game 3-dimensional all of a sudden somehow increases the experience. Back then they had to work a lot harder on things that matter like stories and soundtracks...not stupid trivial things like how many polygons can I fit on the screen at the same time. When it comes to sacfrificing graphics for a great storyline...I'll choose the latter.
I'm so glad I still have my Seiken Densetsu 2 cartridge but it looks like I'm beating a dead horse here asking for them to release them on the VC

Square Enix isn't going to release Secret of Mana or its sequel for the VC, just like we won't be seeing any of the 2D Final Fantasies popping up on there, either. Those games have been reproduced and are still marketed for the Gameboy Advance. Tomorrow IGN might announce Secret of Mana DS. I wouldn't be surprised.

WTF? Nintendo won't give us Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3) but they'll give us Sin & Punishment (Tsumi to Batsu Hoshi no Keishōsha)??? The Virtual Console is obviously aimed at the Retro-Gamer/Emulation Crowd, and if they gave us the games we actually WANTED they could turn the VC into something really great. I usually just play my translated Roms, but I would buy a Wii, JUST to get to play a re-coded, translated Secret of Mana 2. It would feel so good to play it with the Wii Classic Controller *sigh* Maybe someday someone will make a USB adapter for it like Liksang did for PS2 pads (and then get promptly sued)

Amen brother. I've never liked turnbased battle RPG's, except Tales of Phantasia, but that was more like a hybrid of Final Fantasy (Point and Use Magic) + Street Fighter Controls. Otherwise I prefer games where I can actually walk around and HIT stuff (Secret of Mana, SD3, Evermore, Terranigma, Zelda, Crusader of Centy) instead of constantly getting sucked into random battle screens.
