iPod and Wii

i was trying out endless ocean today (which so far seems like a total throwaway) and i noticed it had mp3 stuff and i figured it be cool to hook up my ipod to it through the usb ports but it doesnt work. I am wondering if it is possible to hook up your ipod to your wii or does mp3s have to go through the memory card thing?

Uhm, but anyway, that game plays MP3s off an SD card.

What can't we try and plug into the Wii? Hehe, don't plug the Wifi connector into it...
It is a little disappointing that the USB ports are used for so little. Conntectivity like that to flash disks or iPods would be cool.

I charge my ipod through the wii sometimes, but sadly you can't use it like that.

Just stick your songs onto an SD card though =]

Or just listen to your ipod as you play..

Even if the Wii could be used to play mp3's from a USB device (which it can't), it would have to be a flash disk or an mp3 player that did not require software.
