play on line. yet can't connect on Wii

Hi,
I have a strange problem.
my son has tried to connect to the internet using a WiFi max.
everything says it's working but cant get on.
any ways, Don't know why but we loaded a WiFi game and low and behold we can play it on line. Yet we cant get the internet channel or connect 24.
how can this be?
HELP I'M pulling my hair out over this.

That does seem weird..
Mine works fine for both, you might want to ask Nintendo, although they won't like the idea of a wi-fi max..But who cares

I have now tried wireless router
Still the same.
It is telling me that connect 24 is switched off.
Don't know what that means.

In your wii menu (the one with all the channels) go the bottom left hand corner and into options, following it until you get to an option called Connect 24, turn it on :P

That's the problem it wont let me.
it says cant connect.
Yet I can play games.
It seems anything that has been loaded recently
works yet things that were on the Wii dont.
Channel wise I mean

If you have the same problem when using a router then the issue may be a faulty Wii. Google it and you will find others with your issue. Sending back to Nintendo is a painless process that took only 7 business days total (from central NY[me] to WA[them]) and they pay shipping both ways.
