Connecting with PC ?

I'm having trouble after buying the LAN Adapter.

My Xbox 360 is already connected to the internet for Xbox Live. I thought it would be a case of just plugging the Ethernet cable into the Wii after removing it from the 360 but it says error code 4122 or something which is an connection error. The LAN Adapter is working because you can see the light flashing as it tries to connect.

I have tried adjusting the settings on the PC but it doesn't do anything.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Power cycle the Wii to off (hold power button til it turns red) and turn off (pull the plug, not standby) your modem (I'm assuming, if you have a router it is different.) Plug in the LAN adapter and turn on your modem and your Wii, order doesn't matter. Post back if it doesn't work.

I think that's how I did it last time but I will try again in 30 minutes and let you know if it works.

Am I correct there is no router then? It will cut down on the possibilities if so.

You are telling the Wii to use a wired connection correct? Are you telling it to autofind your connection or are you inputting it manually?

From the main Wii screen click the bottomleft Wii icon
click Wii settings
click right twice
click internet
click connection settings
click the wired(?) connection
click change settings
tell it wired (you never answered) and keep clicking right through the screens to set up your connection.

Are you using a crossover cable? If not, either get one or re-terminate one end of your cable to make it one.

Good suggestion on the crossover cable, but if it worked for the xbox I'm betting it is. And I doubt people have the crimper just lying around to fasten the RJ45 back.
