Mario Kart Wii 86420 error code

I can play fine with random people online,but when i added my friend and either I or he creates a room we get an 86420 error code. Does anyone have any experiance with this???? I tried the Nintendo support but thats all gibberish to me? Anyone know why we are getting 86420 error code? Please help, would love to play with friends.

Wii Online Code: 5537-0855-7535-2075

I think, but I'm not 100% sure, that that code indicates an issue with Nintendo's servers. There has been a massive surge in online use and they just can't cope with all of the traffic.
