Wii to Wii connection??

Can you connect two wiis in your house to play on two separate TVs? I want to play mario kart with 8 people. I've done it w/ the xbox for halo, but what about the wii... it should be able to be done, i think the game cube could do it. any help?

If you connect them both to WFC, then you can play over the internet, but you can't just bypass and go over your LAN

two people per Wii, for a total of four, if that's what you meant.

ok, so I guess I can't have 8 player mario kart at my house. i think this is a design flaw. you should be able to have 8 player mario kart (all 8 people in one location)... I have a bunch of friends who play and we sometimes get together, hook up 2 xboxs', and play 4v4 halo capture the flag all day. o well. thanks for the help.
