I just have one question that I have always thought, why do you have to pay for the Wii browser now.(I got it for free) I don't know about Xbox 360, but on PSP and the PS3 the browser is free. Why does Nintendo think that the browser is worth any money? I can get the Opera browser for free on my computer so why does Nintendo think that they should charge for it on Wii and DS.

Pretty much the people who got their hands on the Wii and went to the shop channel before a certain date got the chance to access the Wii Internet Channel for free. Those who got it afterward had to cough up 500 points.

Its alot easier to write software for a computer than it is for a wii. I assume that Ninendo paid the Opera company to program a browser, and nintendo is trying to get the money back and even a profit.

Thats nice and all, but how come on PS3 and PSP where Sony loses profit they still can include it. I have a better idea, just make the browser a bit smaller and on the top put adds so that the browser will be a tiny bit smaller. People would rather not pay than be add free. I got it for free so I'm not complaining, only wondering. Why Nintendo doesn't just make there own browser so they don't have to pay Opera I don't know. Yet Sony has to pay the Access... (The company that makes their browser Netfront)

Can you use a USB keyboard to type?
PS3 net was shitty with it's controller and a little slow and couldn't play videos well, I heard Wii does though well so...I think it's worth 5 bucks if you want it. If you don't, then don't buy it, it's simple. :P

I got it for free for the last time if i have to say this again i will spam this site with gay porn. Its cool but its not worth $5 when IE came with my computer (even though i downloaded firefox) and yes u can use a USB keyboard. BTW have you even used the PS3 browser. At least when you pay for the system you are getting an Internet browser even if you think its bad.

The PS3 is an extra couple hundred dollars. Thats probably why its free. The nintendo wii was made as cheaply as possible so they can make more profit. The wii Opera browser is acceptable. Its cool to watch youtube on a big screen and stuff. It's worth the $5. Honestly, if anyone complains that it costs too much, the next 2 times you go out to lunch, get water instead of soda to make up for the $5.

YOU FAIL. The PS3 is an extra hundred dollars because of better hardware. They lose money on each unit sold so you are wrong. Nintendo makes money off the Wii. You say it's worth $5, but what do you have to back it up and FOR THE LAST TIME I DIDN'T PAY FOR IT, I GOT I WHEN IT WAS Free (Goes to spam site with gay porn... jk)

Early Wii owners got the Opera browser for free.
Would I pay 500 points for it if I hadn't? Maybe, because it is useful when I want a quick browse and cant be bothered to go to my PC or Laptop.
It's common opinion that the 360 has the best online service even though you have to pay for it. Out of all the next gen consoles the Wii has the best web browser so you have to pay for it. Makes sense to me.

I understand its much better than the PS3 browser MUCH BETTER. But on computers the worst browsers are free like AOL (its free now, even though it didnt used to be) and IE, but the best are also free like Firefox and Safari. I could | |
