no u actually dont have to buy anything to connect. u can do it wirelessly by just setting it up in wii internet settings. the usb connector jus makes for a more powerful and successful internet connection

When using a WiiPoints card to redem points, i come across an error. the process of redeeming works smoothly until i select "redeem". while in the process of redeeming a "205813" error, which says that maybe the credit card i am using is faulty and im not even using one. is there a way to avoid this error? if so how?

I feel like a Noob for asking this question but I just got my Wii earlier in the week. Bought it off of a family friend and I'm just curious about the Wii Internet connection status. Currently have no way of connecting to the internet but am planning on purchasing a Wifi USB connector for my PC ( Windows XP). Is this the best option for me? My computer is currently connected to the internet through cable. Just looking for a little feedback to see what kind of options I'll find myself in.
Also, another noobish question forgive me, the internet features such as connecting with other Wii systems through messaging and friends and sharing Mii's, all this is free right? The reason I ask is because I am familiar with the Xbox 360 LIVE system where you need to purchase the ability to connect and what not.
If anyone can respond either in this forum or PM me it would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks.
