I can not figure out how to connect the Wii to the internet. I don't have wireless connection and I don't use a LAN line, I am connected through a network. What do I need to get in order to connect?

LAN means Local Area Network. Do you use a cat 5 or type of ethernet cable?
Try to run a search or try reading you instruction manual.
The only choices are the LAN Adapter and wireless, as far as I know.

We have an ethernet cable, I just know it is bigger than the regular phone line.

You say you don't have a LAN line, but you do, as evidenced by "We have an ethernet cable, I just know it is bigger than the regular phone line." So you could use that, with a USB LAN adapter for the Wii, and assuming you have a router (if not, you'd need to get one of those too).
Read the stuff below. If it's beyond you, hire a geek.

Don't hijack other peoples' threads. Bad bad internet etiquette. This thread is pturpin's, regarding pturpin's problems. Start your own thread if you're looking for help for your issue.
