If you don't no what WEP is most likely your trying to connect to somebodies private network. The WEP is setup by the person who setup the router. You can't find it because you shouldn't have it if the router is not yours. Unless your parents set it up then they should have the KEY code. So stop trying to use your neighbors internet. Any wifi device can see networks with in range but unless you have a KEY your not gettin in.

Could someone PLEASE help me! I have a Linksys WRT54G v6 and have been trying for THREE days to get my wi-fi to work with my wii. Called Nintendo and I get a different answer every time. They told me Norton doesn't work...so I uninstalled it and install AVG which they recommended...I even bought the USB connector because it was supposedly simpler and THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER. It picks up my linksys but the connection fails EVERY TIME. I am about to hurl the stupid thing out the window. UGH! Please help me...I am technologically stupid!

The Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router works fine.

Ninetendo Wii Fans who want to link their Wii console into their Wireless Broadband Network have problems.

And the only way around it is to spend money (abt $150) for this special next generation EV-DO Router. Why? Well, right now our nation's wireless networks, the major ones, are all EVDO.

I thought this particular sub-forum was for posting what routers worked and didn't work

not for how to get things working. That should be in its own forum - and if it doesn't exist, it should be created.

Default Linksys N Router

I have a Linksys N router, and cannot get it to work with the wireless. I have my old linksys G router so I'm going to try that and hopefully it will work. If not, I don't know what else to try.

Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connecter- works great, the price went down to $30 so it's cheaper than a router, doesn't make my computer lag. I'd recommend getting it.

you could try logging onto the router and resetting the wep key from your router control panel
