Whenever i play the supermario bros..and other games on my new widescreen, 42 inch HD tv...the game blacks out, but i can hear the sound? why does this do that? Thanks i need help

Can you like..change the size of the screen?
Like.. not the ACTUAL screen obv, just like.. on screen? Does that make sense?

He means change the size of the picture of your screen so the way you view your game is on a smaller part of the screen instead of taking up the whole screen...now get it?

This is why I'm glad I didn't buy a HD TV yet. I would go to Circuit City and watch the customers complain about all the flaws the output system had. On the other hand the new projector systems are looking very promising. Now all I need is a mammoth wall for the screen.
