Default Buying Wii Points US / UK

I discovered the delights of the online Wii stuff over the weekend (after finally connecting it to my Orange Livebox) and my wife wasted no time downloading Super Mario Bros. for the VC.

I'm not too happy about the price of Wii Points, though. You can buy 1000 points off the Wii for £7. I went into Virgin Megastore and they had 2000 points for £20, and then Gamestation were selling 2000 points for £15. Why the difference?

My real question is this - can I buy Wii Points any cheaper in the US with the exchange rate being so good and still use them on my UK Wii - I suppose I would have to get the cards sent across mail order, but will US points cards still be redeemable on a UK Wii?

No you can't redeem US point cards on a foreign Wii.

I agree, Wii points are WAY too expensive.

I think around 2-3 quid per game is reasonable (less for NES games etc)

£7 is a rip off for N64 games. There are plenty of good emulators available for PC that will allow you to play all these games for free. We are only paying for the novelty of playing these games on our Wii...

Still, it is pretty cool having the option to do so!

There must be a cheaper way of getting hold of them?

I agree with all said above..... Why can't we use us points over here? On ebay there are cheap points but for us only!! PLus they get them sent through email!! Can we get that?

Because Virgin Megastores grossly overprice all electronic goods. In my opinion, stick to shopping at Gamestation and HMV, and that's only if you really have to shop in the high street. Personally I always prefer to buy stuff online where you can rely on it being cheaper.

Default Way to get Free Wii Points

Hey, I know just what you guys are talking about.
I hate paying so much for Wii points that give me
so few games per points. 500 for NES?!?! Come on...
I finally found a way around this problem...
I found a website, called Gaming Lagoon,
where you can get Free Wii Points, virtual console controlers,
and other wii accessories and they will ship it to you free.

Go to http://www.gamnglagoon.com/?ref=65246
at Gaming Lagoon all you have to do is sign up, complete short surveys,
and soon enough you will have free Wii points coming in your mail.
I have recieved a few cards already, and it's great not to have to pay
for so many wii points any more!

Take my advice and visit http://www.gamnglagoon.com/?ref=65246

Well guys i heard a lot of people don't have access to wii points, but i got a solution for this. I for one wanted try play the original super mario brothers so i did this and got it from the wii shop channel.

http://www.ezyrewards.com/?id=161877

This site is useful because it is worldwide and everyone can use it. Unlike that annoying gaming lagoon which is just for US!!!
Once u go there, signup, complete surveys and ull be awarded with points. Then you can spend these points to buy wii points, or other stuff. My bro also got a white psp and i got 2 classic controllers as well as 4000 wii points

enjoy!

Lucky ciper was there to catch you, you got so many things wrong

1. You obviously didn't read the ToS (Terms of Service), and I got written up for this too, so don't say you are the only one, look at my sig, there is still proof (becasue I don't change my sig that often), just today I was looking for ways to distribute my referral code, it's not easy, but please don't do it on this board, and you did it worse than me, honestly , I am supprised that it didn't change the link to astriks, as it should of done, and has done multiple times

2. You didn't even spell gaming right, it's a wonder you can even log into the site and you don't even know the domain

3. You didn't look for a forum that allows referrals (I know of a couple myself), if you are going to post your referral, at least do it in a place where it is clearly labeled that you can do so, many forums ban such a thing, and now, it makes me angry to see such a thing (mostly because I had it removed, but also because it is aginst the ToS)

@ ciper: Nice catch
