I remember reading it was at some point.

Great game but it does get ****ing hard later on.

No, because Nintendo hates us and prefers to shovel out crappy games (with the rare decent game) that no one aside from the VC desperate will buy.

That game ate up quite a bit of my childhood. I'll be glad to see it again on VC.
