VC games support widescreen resolution?

My wife is still adamant that the games in the virtual console are "jumpy" when we play on our new tv, a sony 40" xbr4. We came from a sony trinitron 27" or so size tv.

I was just wondering what the best setting would be to use when playing the VC games so she can stop whining about it because I am going nuts.

i got a 40" RCA and i have my console set on widescreen and it runs fine, Are you using the component cables or the regular a/v cables?

Component. DK SMB, they all seem pixelated really bad and stretched too far, making the game jumpy.

try adjusting the resolution on your tv in the settings it might be set too low..
