I've got a couple of those compilations.. .. .. Taito legends 1 (Bubble Bobble) and Midway Treasures 1 (Smash TV).. .. ..
Much better value than the VC (although I WISH Nintendo would release this kind of disc for the Wii) so if you have the relevant machine then it's well worth the purchase price.
All of those collection disks do seem nice, but for some reason I still like the VC better. Even if it does get pricy, its just a lot more convienent to have every single classic game you enjoy right in front of you when you turn on your Wii.
Yeeh. :P I guess I am a little lazy.
But I didn't mean that the way it sounds. I just mean that someone isn't going to go out and buy a system just for a few games. I think the hardcore classic fans that have a Wii are still going to buy the classics on their VC.
( Unless of course someone already has the system they need. )
But besides the comments that i'm lazy, back on topic.
I still agree that this is a cool thread. It's neat for someone to give information like that to save some money on the classics. Awesome.

You guys don't get the Megaman X collection? Weak...

Very nice list. I prefer playing games on the Virtual Console over the PS2 (which is where most of the compilations are easiest/cheapest to pick up here in the US), but there's definitely a lot of savings to be found with these collections. (Sega Genesis collection is an amazing deal; the Phantasty Star games alone more than justify the cost of admission.)
