EU VC update 21/03/08
Only three weeks after Super Turrican we get:
Mega Turrican
Sadly only one game this week.
Note: apparently you'll need to update your console in order to access the Shop Console. I'm scared to try in case Nintendo's sneakily put in a way to stop the Freeloader.

Alright, after checking vc-reviews forums I took the plunge and updated. It still works.
Apparently the update "readies" the Wii Shop for Wiiware games.
Great, now I'm going to be terrified every time there's an update.

Fairly tough game for the Mega Drive (I'm not sure if it came out for the SNES), with lots of in-game advertising for 7-Up.
