Decent list, but where's Earthbound, Secret of Mana and (if we're considering tactical RPGs) Shining Force II?
You had the two "corrected" names right the first time. The NES never had a game called Dragon Quest. The Famicom did but when referring to the NES it is indeed "Dragon Warrior." Same with FFIII. Personally, I preferred Dragon Warrior II to the first one. It would be at the top of my list with Chrono Trigger just below it. I don't know if I could make it to 10 though.

Dragon Quest was only called Dragon Warrior in North America for copyright reasons, but they've since corrected this with the latest game in the series (Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2).
Final Fantasy "III" is really the sixth one and I wish people would stop calling it III. It's confusing when talking about the actual FFIII, and in the rereleases it's corrected to VI to confirm its rightful number.
Plus, I live in Europe and am therefore not obliged to follow American naming schemes (those two games never came out here until much later, with their proper names).

If your gonna say Secret of Mana you should include its super wierd "sequel" Secert of Evermore.
But srsly, are you guys paying for SNES games? I know its wrong to emulate and steal and whatever, but are you gonna tell me you never DLd a song? Thought so.
Ill pay for N64 games cuz some are buggy on emulators and whatnot.
Id rather see some N64 games. BEATLE ADVENTURE RACING PLEASE!!!...One of the most underrated racing games ever made period.
But by far, #1 should be Chrono Trigger...I just played it again and beat it recently and it holds up so f*ckin good, its crazy...No other game I can think of holds up as well as Chrono Trigger...and even if Chrono Trigger were to come out now, it would still blow 90% of any RPGs out of the water.
It's against the rules to talk about emus here. Ostriches are okay though.
Understood, but just trying to make a point...Do you guys pay for all your music and movies too? Did anyone in the world really pay $1,000 for Photoshop CS3 Extended?
Phantasy Star (Master System)
Phantasy Star III & IV (Genesis)
Secret of Mana (SNES)
Dragon Quest 1-4 (NES)
Final Fantasy (NES)
Final Fantasy IV, V, VI (SNES)
And since they are releasing Shiren the Wanderer 3 on Wii they should translate and add the SNES version of Shiren the Wanderer on VC.
Secret of Mana launched on the SNES, Game Boy, and the third game on the SNES again. Secret of Evermore was made by a company that helped add in the Ruby and Emerald weapons into Final Fantasy 7? I think. Anyways that company is barely alive anymore, making crappy race car games. How the mighty have fallen from original IP to licensed IP. Let that be a lesson. All licensed games suck, and they destroy game companies.
Chrono Trigger had a sequel on the SNES called Radical Dreamers. It was ok as a Japanese port. However Chrono Cross did much better. Square even added in a massive chunk of Radical Dreamers into Chrono Cross. After that the game franchise went the same way Vagrant Story, Vandal Hearts, death.

You're in luck, Frog. Phantasy Star III was added to the European Wii Shop yesterday. I don't know if you live in America or not, but if so it probably won't be a long wait.
