Two questions:
1. That old dude in the Kakariko Village mentioned that some boy got lost in the mountains. It had something to do with the flute. I never saw a kid in the mountains. What's up with that?
2. In Ganon's Tower kind of near the top, there is a long stretch of a level in which you have to run across a narrow path while there are cannons shooting black balls at you from both sides. At the end of that path, there is a cracked wall across a gap, yet no way to get over there. How do you get over there?

to answer number 1, there's a circle of rock's on the top of the mountain, you have to use the flute(or was it a mirror?) in the centre of the stones. if memory serve's me right, the land of hyrule will turn to a dark version of said city. don't quote me, but try it out!!
number 2- try a bomb on the cracked wall??? don't realy remember!

The flute-playing boy who got lost on Death Mountain wondered into the same Dark World portal that Link did before he entered the Tower of Hera. He made his way to the Sacred Grove, the same place he appears (and disappears) in the Light World.
To get to that breakable wall in Ganon's Tower (which is very useful), you'll have to use a cool little trick to jump across the gap. Stand at the red X and face the right wall. Start a dash, but before you actually start running, press Up. If timed correctly, you'll dash into the blocks and the recoil will make you jump backwards across the gap. Just use to hookshot to get back!

That can't be the way they intended you to get across, can it? If so, that's really cheesy.

It is, and it's the only way to do it. It is a bit cheesy, but it requires the player to strategize a bit since there is no jumping.

I'll hide this just in case someone wants to find out for themselves.

I just bombed myself across the gap. It always worked for me.
