EU VC update 2/5/08 - Hanabi Festival returns!

It's time for another round of import games. Yay! This week, we get the third game in the Columns series (number 2 was not released for the Mega Drive), the Turbografx sequel to Gradius, and another entry from the Star Soldier series:

Columns III
Gradius II
Final Soldier

Remember, import titles cost 100 points more than the usual games for each console.

I suspect Doremi Fantasy, Puyo Puyo 2, Gley Lancer and Cho Aniki will be making appearances later this month.

Update:
According to the Wii Shop Channel there's more import games to come this month, "courtesy of Sega and Hudson Soft". In other words, expect to see a focus on imports from the Mega Drive and TG-16, with Doremi Fantasy (a Hudson game) probably making an appearance as well. Also, in case you're worried, none of the games released today are limited-time only like with The Lost Levels.

Not bad. Now just bump that up to 5 games a week Nintendo. I heard Gradius 2(SNES) is much better. I think the flaw with most shooters is they didn't run like Contra. That's where you die in the stage and continue exactly where you died. Lifeforce did that. However, most are death equals a cruel start the stage over with nothing on you penalty. I always felt this was the flaw with most space shooters.

I don't think there was a SNES version of Gradius II, though I know there was one for the NES. I haven't played either, but I have a feeling this version would be better, given the CD format.

Just a thought: If Konami is willing to release an import TG-16 game, does this mean Castlevania: Rondo of Blood could be on its way?
