They are the SAME game/Series. Not Different.

Dragon Quest = Japan Name

At least Earthbound didn't have those god-awful random battles. That's probably one of the big reasons I kept playing the game. I don't think I've ever played an RPG with random battles for more than an hour. They are so damn infuriating. I hate them!

I liked the first person concept. It made battle alot quicker, not having to see battle animation. Nothing against battle animation, just..well, it was quicker.
I was also extremely impressed (and grateful) for the rolling HP meter situation they stuck in there. Now THAT was ingenious! KO'd when you know your enemy has like 1 HP left and you just want ONE MORE ATTACK!? Earthbound lets you do that. Fantastic.

Me too. I want to play the game reeeeaally bad. Nintendo has announced they have plans to load all three Mother games onto a DS cart.

Third party website, they had a press release/interview with the lead developer of the mother series or something. The same site that's translating the mother 3 rom into english. Google it.
