Renegade. The game that started Double Dragon, and side scrolling beat'em ups. Actually there was a game before that, it was altered from Japan thugs to US thugs. However all the mechanics are still there. This also led to River City Ransom, Super Dodgeball, and over 54 more games. In other words an empire started here. Too bad beat'em ups are pretty much dead. The last good beat'em up I played was Bouncer. I hope this genre gets revived one day.

Hmm. A quick check with IGN shows that Pokemon Puzzle League is actually a _very_ good game. To be frank, puzzle games are much needed on the VC.
Now... if we could just get the NES version of Tetris and Dr. Mario.

Its a shame that Renegade is so bad (not in a 80s/90s way)
If only the player didnt kinda lock on to one enemy I could win with the back kick

Yeah, the NES version was awful. The arcade version was much better. I have to say some games have aged far worse than others. It's amazing to see which games are timeless. Blastermaster still owns. Treasure Master still sucks.
