whenever a fanboy says stuff wrong im there to defend what ever hes against, it just so happens most of the stuff on this forum is against ps3/360 so theres not much room to defend wii
p.s. he was just saying the wii was perfect, so even 1 example of its non perfection makes it not perfect, so at the time that was all that was needed

Video game consoles are not meant for watching movies or shows. How obvious do people have to make it for you to get it through your thick skull? And I don't see you on PS3Chat defending the Wii, so your statement about protecting against fanboys means nothing. And the quote in your sig isn't necessarily an insult or otherwise negative comment to the PS3. Also, it's very easy to switch off the Wiimote speaker and use another sound system, in or out of the TV. And at least for me, connecting to VC takes a few seconds. Last time i checked, that doesn't qualify as slow.

its a joke about the ps3
and wii gives you the news and weather and what not, so obviously wii isnt just a video game console either, but no matter how many times you say that those additions would be extras that people would want, but yet its not possible with out a harddrive (you could do shows)
im subscribed to the ps3chat, i didnt even know flaming went on, but im only into this forum where i already set my stake in
well when i had a wii it took a long ass time to connect, must have improved it or something, but still, the speaker in the remote is still somtehing they could have improved

Depends on your connection i geuss, i see alot of people connecting in a matter of seconds. And itll be probably 100x faster when LAN Wires are available im sure.

i have a pretty fast connection when my wii was downstairs it would still take awhile though

I agree, and based on what I heard, the graphics on the PS3 are comparable to the X360 anyway, what gives? like you said, $600? Not worth it, i'll buy 2 X360s for that

First off, HD-DVDs gonna win, think about it, what company made Blu-Ray? SONY, and while some SONY electronics are okay, like the PSP, well, their line of computers (VAIO) sucks @$$, don't believe me? I installed Vista on my VAIO, ran fine, except for one thing, grapics card, VAIOs have the worst grapics card installed in them that they are lucky that it didn't fail during POST, I went to the store and all the VAIOs, laptop and tower, has sh*tty video cards, their computers aren't even worth a cent, and there wasn't even an AGP slot, and I had a television from them that could of given at least one more year and it broke, and I went through 2 PS2s, and I take good care of my electronics, a replacement usually isn't needed for me, and now here's Blu-Ray, the UMD of the DVD market (UMD is the propriatary PSP disc format), and like the UMD, it will fail, HD-DVD on the other hand is backed up my Microsoft (they might not be the best company, but they surely aren't the worst like SONY is), just wait and see

Second, the URL might be www.wiichat.com, meaning they are more on Wii side of things, but if you looked at the directory this thred is in, it is in the Playstation 3 Directory, meaning, IT BELONGS IN HERE, so who's the real dumbass?

Now, back when the PS3 was in it's incomplete, unusable stage, I thought the PS3 was going to be the worst console to ever hit the market, and the people who bought it had to be the stupidest people on earth, when the PS3 came out, the console ended up to be pretty good, good features, compatibility with the PSP, the power, etc, the PS3 actually started to interest me. Before the PS3 and Wii came out, I got the X360 because it was out a year early and it is a pretty nice console, but then i wanted something I could take with me to different places, since I share the X360 with my brother, so my choices were either the PS3 or the Wii, at first I thought the PS3 would be my console of choice, but $600? I can buy a gaming laptop for around that much, and an HD video card with a DVI port, not worth the cost, and I wanted a console, not a gaming laptop, the PS3 just isn't worth $600, even for how great it is, so, now here's the Wii, a console where I can play all my favroite good ol' games, and new Wii games coming out for it, and what's that? It's less than the PS3? It's only $250? Wow, what a bargan, and I know that I will get some good games with it out of the box, rather than spend $600 for the console and one controller, upload around $100 for PSX game downloads and compatibility for the PSP, and roughly $150 (I don't know how much they cost, but i'm guessing around $50) for 3 controllers, and wait for a good game to come out, then pay $50-$70 per game

so that's
$600.....PS3
$150.....3 Controllers (to make 4)
$50-$70.Game
=$800-$870 to close to a grand, and you still have to get an HDMI cord for HD

now for the Wii
$250.....Wii
$150.....Controllers
$50-$70.Game
=$450-$470 to around half a grand, so you save around $500 getting the Wii and accessories than going with the PS3, hey, buy a new television with the money you saved and have something nice for the Wii, better than spending it on the PS3

So what do you pick?

I would still pick the ps3. Blu ray has alot more support by consumers and studios. YOur just plain stupid if you think hd dvd has any chance in winning. How many commercials do you see for hd dvd? How many for blu ray? My point exactly. Case closed, you lose.

Isn't this forum about the Wii? Ps3 is expensive. I think Blu-Ray will be a repeat of the Betamax era and I don't want to bother wasting money on TVs and cables as well as the memory cards or any of that crap. I like my Wii and PS2 just fine. No need for any more money guzzlers like the PS3 whether or not it as pretty graphics and third-party support lacking Halo. I like Square-Enix and I've collected the final fantasy and Kingdom Hearts but they're moving on to the impossible so I don't mind giving them up . Lets get back to the Wii now people.
