PS3 sucks, now tell me why not to think so.

Gta has a brouder audience than mario does. it goes the same for the wii, the wii offers alittle of everything for all ages young to old( and i mean senior old) hence the sales are very high, compared to ps3 and 360 which are more for hardcore gamers.

i have one question for you, what would you play gta or mario? and why

Well to tell the truth, i know you guys are not gonna like this, but to be for real and tell the truth, something some people are scared to do,i would go for mario cuz, i've been playin it since the old days, from super mario 1,2,3, i've also played super mario 64, you cant say thats not a good game. And i've played gta mostly all of gta, theyre all good, but on this one i'd go for mario, not becuz im a fan boy but becuz i played it more thats it!
You know what? GTA is just as good, im not saying its bad, hell GTA 3 and VICE CITY, made me like GTA more, but like i said in my last sentence, i still would go for mario, i respect your opinion and im pretty sure you would respect mine. (Besides GTA and Mario are both good games, no matter who developed it!)

Only signed up to reply to this post but im gonna stay and chat more anyway.

I think that most people here have missed the biggest point there is about The Xbox360 and Sonys PS3............................If it wasn't for nintendo creating the nes all those many years ago with the FIRST EVER control pad gaming would not be the same as it is today there might not even be PS or Xbox all these companies really did was take ideas that Nintendo had already done, a few examples below.

(This will get me called a fanboy, but at 21 i dont really care)

The NES as mentioned above had the FIRST EVER controller which SEGA stole the idea from.

The SNES updated the controller by adding 2 extra face buttons(which worked) and 2 shoulder buttons(L&R), SEGA with there new console the megadrive(or genesis depending on where you live) had a delayed release so they could add the shoulder buttons and 4 extra face buttons

N64 (and this one still annoys me) first console with 4 controller ports and an analog control stick, Sony now having there PS out recalls there controller and adds 2 analog sticks (wonder where they got that idea) and when the xbox was first released microsoft stated and i quote "Xbox is also the first console to include 4 contoller ports" did they forget about the N64 or Segas Dreamcast.

Skip a few years

Xbox is doin its own thing now so its out of the picture

Nintendo keeping its controller behind very thick walls so the idea cant be stolen decided it was time to reveal how the controller was goin to work, announcing the controller was goin to be fully motion sensitive. Sony hearing this news recall there "boomerang" contoller and delay the release of the PS3 for "tech reasons" these reasons being that they want to put motion sensitivity into there controller.

What im saying here is that nintendo has being the strongest in inovations and computer enhancment since way back when and every idea of theres is stolen and made worse on other consoles.

I am not biased towards nintendo because i own a Wii and a 360, i also had a ps3 for about 4 days before i returned it, it wouldn't connect to the controller i was given with it and it also burned out, this to me says that the PS3 was rushed and is the worst console to date i would rather play LOZ:TP or Gears of war. Instead of having a machine that dies in a few days, there are just too many flaws with the PS3, all machines have them but the PS3 just has too many.

oh RLY?!

In fact, the root of all gaming controllers from joystick play to analog sticks...ect can all be traced back to atari when they dominated the market. Nintendo appeared later copied atari and beat them at their own game.

Lets also keep in mind that Shinguru Miyamoto (sp?) was the person behind all nintendo controller designs. He admits getting his ideas from things he sees and finds. For example, wii controller he got from using a tv remote. Nintendos success has set the standards for popular game pad design..

... but it was not the first.

Now you are trying to pass off rumor as fact. You have some interesting claims there, but none linked to any form of truth, rather, what you or someone else has assumed.

The boomerang controller was ONE of their prototype controllers, each console thinks up quite a few prototypes before picking the main one. The boomerang was out at E3 to be flashy, but with the likelyhood of them never using it for the real deal.

Fact: Sony was in a legal battle with Immersion over the rumble technology, which means they couldnt use any controller with rumble tech till that case was dealth with. Microsoft went through the same thing earlier, but not durning a prelaunch period like sony.

Fact: Sony filed a copyright for the sixaxis controller way before nintendo announced and revealed their controller. Its possible nintendos controller caused them to release the cat out of the bag a bit earlier than they may have expected, or it could be the other way around.

Facts are always better than rumors and false assumptions based on being a brandfan.

You are saying you are not biased? with a name like that? cmon. As for your problems with the ps3, if you are indeed telling the truth, it is quite uncommon. The controller not connecting probably means you didnt know how to use the interface, or your controller was messed up. Probably didnt read the instructions, as for it just randomly burning out like that. I have trouble believing it. The PS3 does not have that many problems at all. You must be the only one, strange.

Anyways, welcome to the forums, but i would not recommend a name like that while you are saying you are not biased. Its pretty childish actually.

If you do a proper search on the Atari 2600 or Atari 5200 you'll notice that, that contoller you have pictured up there was released a year AFTER nintendo released the nes thank you and good night

haha ok please enlighten me. Back up what you say with some real data. Give me a link that shows the release date of the controllers. The controller itself was a mix between their earlier joystick pad which turned sideways and in favor of less buttons.

By the way did you know the idea of the Dpad was taken from Milton Bradley's Cosmic Hunter Dpad concept.

Read up on some history champ.

You're both wrong, the controller for the Magnavox Odyssey (1972) was the original controller for playing the game system. It was used for playing PONG.

actually your wrong. we all know about that one. the debate was over which on had directional buttons and two buttons to the side first. did you read that part? cuz if thats the case then the first controller would be the arcades since it had that joystick and the buttons.

To be fair, there are similarities in the rectangle with the intent of being used by two hands.

But at the same time, it does not use buttons or any form of directional input other than two turnable knobs.

And also, my debate is not on who did it first, its merely that nintendo did not invent it. It popularised it the most, but did so copying past designs. So, whos wrong again? I give you an A for effor though FR.

After 22 pages, while i don't believe PS3 sucks as much as some say it does I have read a single acceptable reason why PS3 does not suck. Very interesting. My personal conclusion is that PS3 is a waste of at least for the near future.

I disagree when you say the PS3 is a waste, although it may be expensive and clunky (big) it still has some good factors on it's side. What I'm trying to say is that you can't say a console sucks when you have no facts to back up your comment.
