US PS3 use in the UK
Just wondering, if I was to buy a PS3 in the US and then use it in the UK, what problems would I be looking at, aside from the fact that games/dvds would have to be imported from the states?

Actually, you wouldn't have any. The PS3 is region-free, which means you can play UK games on a US console. The console itself should also be fine.

What connections does it have to connect to the TV? Just the standard three coloured pins?
By the way, thanks for your fast reply.

there are a couple of issues which would need clarifying:-
1. does the USA PS3 support 220 ~ 230V - if not you will need a "step down" converter to reduce 220 ~ 230V down to 100 ~ 110V. maplins have these devices readily available.
2. does your tv support the NTSC standard? if not all you will see is a black and white image.
tbh, most PAL tv's manufactured in the last 15 years should be ok with the
NTSC format.

Definately.
Any HDTV is built relatively recently and would therefore have full compatibility with 60HZ consoles.

Well since no one has mentioned it, the PS3 games are region free, but the Blu-ray movies aren't, so you would have to import BDs if you wanted to watch them.
Edit: LMAO someone repped me for this post saying "anyone with paintba||er in their name is smelly"
