DVD playback?

ive searched, but i cant find an answer.
does the PS3 have dvdplayback? does itupscale?

The answers are Yes and Yes! For the upscaling of SD content, it needs a more recent update (someone else can probably be specific, like 1.8 maybe?)

I understand the upscaling is pretty solid too! Not quite Reon chip PQ, but extremely good for mid-range.

yeah the upscaling is pretty good.
