Sony is no stranger to courting causal gamers, whether you're talking about the EyeToy or quiz game Buzz. First the company tried to steal Nintendo's thunder by introducing motion control functionality to its PS3 controller, now Sony is working a new device internally being called the Waggle. This controller will likely to be packed in with a game (like Buzz is) and Sony is currently talking with a number of companies about titles for the controller. Although the full functionally of the controller is unknown at this point it will certainly, it will contain motion sensing. Unlike the Wii remote, however, Sony's Waggle will not require a sensor bar or be based on IR. How this differentiates or expands upon the motion control of the PS3 controller is unknown at this time.

I don't get it. The sixaxis already contains motion sensors. Why make a remote like the Wii if it will not have any kind of pointing capabilities?

That means Nintendo must be doing something right to be copied by the same company, for the same system, twice. Until details arise, I'm assuming it's a lot like the Wiimote. For shame, Sony.

 Original? Have you ever seen the MS/Sony system's?
They couldn't come up with anything original if it hit them in the face! ha ha, Same goes for alot of the games too, they have as many sequals as Nintendo titles in half the time on the market, impressive in a way I guess.
Nintendo has always been better at mixing up the controller layout, atleast taking chances over the years for better or worse.

Wow didn't know your personal opinon of controller layout had such influnce, Thanks!
No matter what you preffer it can be argued by everyone and their own taste.
I was showing a point on the inovation of MS/Sony vs. Nintendo which comparatively they are not even close or seem to be trying beyond more of the same just supped up.

All the newer controller layouts have gotten old to me even the GC which was my favorite for comfort, although it could have used a R2 L2...
Wii mote was the best inovation in controller skeme in a long time although it could also have been set up a little better I think.

xbox and PS controllers always seemed rather uncomfortable and annoying to me. . . the GC one is my favorite actually. I'll have to get used to the PS one if I get a ps3 though. . .
