The game have sold well because they're good.
Mass Effect has sex in it, zomg, but the media coveridge, err wait, coverage hasn't helped its sales, nor Bully's.

Rockstar makes damn good games.

The made one of the greatest beat 'em ups I've ever played, while at the same time also making a damn good movie game too.

GTA4's rating will go down on release, seeing as it will be applying to the entire market and not just the blokes who have been wait for years for this game.

Prinny should know he's being a big anti-GTA. There's no way in the world you can say those things and think your are being genuine. You actually try to say GTA4 is a rehash, yet there are so many other games that do exactly that (SSBB) and it's okay. But if GTA does it (which they didn't) then it's a shitty rehashed game.

GTA is an elite gaming franchise, alongside Mario, Zelda, Halo, etc. etc. The only way Rockstar could screw this game up is do the opposite of what they did in GTA III.

One can even make the argument that Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy are the same.

They are lol. Someone actually made an article about how Nintendo basically rehashes their games over and over and no one cares. But people cry and give bad scores to games that isn't giving them a whole new experience. I guarantee you will see some bad reviews to Gears of War 2 if there isn't much of a change to it.

Now im not bashing Nintendo for this, because I still do like their games. I just don't see how people can be so hypocritical when another game developer desides to make a sequel or basically another spin-off and alot of people whine and cry saying "it's just like the last, but with a few new stuff"

Mario Kart is exactly like all the other ones, except this time they have motorcycles and a new control scheme (which I personally don't like). Same with SSBB being just new characters. The most original thing in SSBB is the smash balls which I personally like but alot of people turn it off because they don't like it.

Basically if GTA4 was just like San Andreas but with a new setting and story and updated graphics people would still love it. But it's not that and people (like DarkPrinny) are already crying "REHASH! IT'S LIKE ALL THE OTHERS" simply because he wants to hate GTA.

DP... i DOUBT you even read the whole review on IGN. why would you if you already hated gta before and knew you wouldn tpurchase it anyways. youre not in the position to say if gta4 is just rehashed stuff or not. you cant truly know a game until you experienced it because that is what games are about, the experience.
