lol I know when the game comes out. I am talking about the 80gb/MGS4 bundle. Nobody at gamestop knows when it comes out. Does anyone here know when? if so, provide link please.

Konami is famous for re-releasing MGS games packed with extra content at lower prices 1-2 years later. If you want MGO that badly, wait until they pack both games into one for $40. Konami will do it, they have used this method with EVERY MGS game to date. The last package came with MGS3, an improved camera, online mode, bonus disk(if you preordered), shoot the monkey, MG1, MG2, boss battle, and more for only $30! It was one of the best game deals ever. This package sold more copies than MGS3 by itself. MGS3 Subsitance was a huge success.

So do the math. $60 for MGS4, $60 for MGO, and that equals over $120 if you include taxes. However... If you wait, you could get MGS4, MGO, Bonus Content for $40 1-2 years later. Make your choice.

sagema, dude; MGO comes with MGS4. It's "the starter pack." No paying extra (yet) for what it entails. You'll get MGS4 packaged with MGO at no extra price. MGO will be updated through DLC in coming months. It was supposed to retail on its own before, but they changed their minds.

And, yes; They do tend to re-package their products. It could be the case this time, with a "sub-afkljsdlf" throw in, but it's different now. Instead of throwing out an updated game, they could just give updates in the form of DLC. That wasn't really an option before.

I don't know exactly what its street date is. I haven't heard nothing as extravagant as July, though. I'm also doing the same thing as you. I preordered the LE the first week of April, and plan on selling the copy that comes with the bundle. xD

Also, the 80GB bundle is not the one pictured in the first post. That one is a 40GB, and will be in EXTREMELY LIMITED SUPPLY. It also comes with the LE of the game, while the 80GB comes with the standard. This isn't marketed towards normal people, only crazy MGS fans with too much money. I'd be interested, but I wouldn't gimp myself on BC just for a fancy color. I doubt anybody who buys this will be playing it anyways. It's also only being sold online through Konami's website.

oh wow thanks for the info about the gun metal one. seeing it now, i dont want it. its only 40gb and itd be better to get the new 80gb model.

I talked to an Gamestop clerk today...

he said sony is just being stupid and not telling anyone when they will release it. he suspects that it will be the 12th or else they will really lose money on the people who want it 'now' instead of waiting.

They packed it in? Sorry, my info was outdated. Woohoo! Go Konami! That should boost their sales an extra 1-2 million units. I'm glad someone stepped up and said selling them seperate for $60 each was BS.

I agree, Gamestop has become an evil monopoly. They have given MGS4 a blind eye in advertising. It actually pisses me off how lesser games have gotten more attention through Gamestop. This isn't about what console is the best. MGS4 is a great game, and I feel angred Gamestop wrote it off because they only care about instant sales. That game will sell for the entire life span of the PS3.

im as a big of fan of mgs as anyone but dudes...dont get the 40gb gun metal one. get the black (or silver) 80gb one when MGS4 comes out. its a better console supposedly and maybe there is an 120gb one coming out too.....according to gamestop manager i talked too.

Well, the bundle pack will be coming with a starter pack for MGO which will be beta. Konami's already released it online for the players who already have MGS4. As for the limited edition color, i've read that it's going to be EXTREMELY limited edition, so finding one might be hard to do. The gun metal isn't going to be the standard color for all bundles, there will be the regular black 80gig bundle pack as well. Either way, picking it up would be a good idea. I've seen screenshots for Metal Gear Online, and it looks incredible..

The 40gb special is $600. Sony is beyond stupid. As I said before, they are the only console in history to price hike back up $100 after price hiking down to $400. Heck, they broke their own record by price hiking up $200. You can get a $400 PS3 with Motorstorm packed in at some stores. Wait... You can also get the 80gb PS3 used for $449, a used 20gb PS3 for $379. Honestly what are the odds the used PS3 doesn't work? Very low. Which means a used PS3 is almost the equivalent of buying a brand new one.

So if you buy any of these packages, you are god damn stupid. Go buy a used PS3 for $350-$400, and MGS4 for $60 if you want it that badly. Or you can be stupid and buy their $600(mail order only) shiny over priced GREY version. Wooooo! Grey! Yes, I'm aware it comes with Dual Shock. Amazing how they charge $60 for a wireless PS2 controller.

Gamestop also had some used 60 gig's for the same price as the used 80 gig. I'm almost temped to just buy a used one, but the only thing I don't like is not having a warranty. Yeah, you might never have to use it, but I always think it's worth it in case something does happen.
I also had no idea that the gun metal edition was only 40 gig's. That doesn't make any sense at all! lol I'm just gonna get the regular model for a 100 bucks cheaper. Who needs the grey color?

thats the hope...i mean..it SHOULD come out on the 12th but Sony has not announced anything yet....the new 80gb should be a good ps3 model to get

I talked to the EB Games clerk. They ARE getting it on the 12th. NO PRE-ORDERS as of now...he said Sony won't let them do that for some reason. He also mentioned he expects there to be "a crunch" to get them. So get there early if you want one.

Personally, I plan to get there when the store opens and just wait it out in line to get one.
