Look at the edge of the planet. If it is rounded, you an walk off the edge and around the planet in a circle. If it is a sharp edge, you will fall off.

The game is easier for me because I actually want to play it and it's not repetitive like Super Mario Sunshine. I hated constantly cleaning up the poop all over the place.
