Yes. Once you collect all 120 stars and defeat Bowser again then you can play as Luigi who has different abilities to Mario.
Honestly I don't like SMG, I'd prefer to play Super Mario Bros. on the SNES using VC.

imo SMG was descent.(not my favorite Mario game but very creative) I just think ppl give a little more hype then what its worth because its a Mario game. But the play as Luigi easter egg sounds pretty sweet. Thanks for the info.

Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best games ever...and i is the best game of the year 2007......if you haven't played from the begin until the end you can't say if it's good or not..
man this game was so easy to me and my friend can't do any purple coin comets, or thats what he claims I don't think he's tried them . Although they did make one or 2 or 5 tops commets hard like the dare devil comet for melty molten or ghostly galaxy. P.S. i think tHat Luigi does have some dissavanteages but has lots of attavanageslike mailtoad will some times gaive u 20 1-ups or funny parts like Luigi saves Luigi and on speady comets its easier to run and some times u can do a high backflip and skip some parts so u can save times like u can landin the star thingy he's awesome!
