on topic. i think that he will have a diffrent move set. but ness will have a diffrent moveset from his original.

I think this deconfirms ness. Sakurai wouldn't reveal ness being playable again in that small deconfirmation, he's very secretive. Lucas does look a lot like ness.

I thought that there wouldn't be any new characters until a trailer, now this threw me off. Now hopefully there will be a falcon update next week. I need this upate. He's the last starter. Cmon sakurai.

yes wreked. he is, seeing as how he put peach in the video in showed it before her confirmation, and how DK was seen in the 15 second video before HE was confirmed. XD

And im thinking he's going to make ness and falcon back into unlockables, if not ima be piiiisseed..

I don't think earthbound deserves two reps.

And he would reveal him in that way. DK and Peach were confirmed in movies, not in 8 words in a newcomer update. Most of ness's moves weren't his. Almost all were lucas's and paula's anyway. I just really hope lucas is the new earthbound rep, and the only.

The main character for what, the mother series. I've never played any mother games so I wouldn't know anything about that.

i ihighly agree, ness's moves wernt his, they were lucas's and paula's. It would be a waist to put ness back in... but i have a feeling that they are going to put him back in. Why take a character for a Japan only game?
Its kind of obvious that there gonna add in ness now. having only lucas, would be like adding luigi and no mario.

I think that now that they put lucas in they will put lucas's dog as an assist, or help him in his final smash. I have played earthbound 3. I could hardly understand it becuase i only speak a little japanesse. But something i did no was that lucas has a dog, that follows him throughout his adventures.

Ness should be back. He did hint at him in the last line. Why even bother mentioning him if he's not going to be back? That's just stupid.

sorry to change the subject guys but ive never played a smash bros game and was wondering what it is about it that sets it aside from other fighters like soul calibur or mortal kombat (other than the obviouse differences and the adventure mode)

I think they replaced Ness with Lucas so their was a change of pace. People in Japan are probably jumping for joy for this character since he was a exclusive there.

Yea, that's what i thought. I never heard of Lucas :/ But i think he'll be a clone of Ness with different damage

ugess my theory about askurai revealing no more characters was wrong...

and no he's not going to replace ness, since ness is the main character of the series, that's like replacing mario with wario...

Besides, just cuz his outfit is similar doesn't mean he'll be a clone. In fact, since we've never PLAYED Mother 3 there's NO WAY for us to know.

I'd be dissapointed if Ness was given the boot, he's a veteran that is fun to use. Why can't Ness and Lukas both be in it?

NESS will be in the game, they're gonna need more than 1 rep of the earthbound series, the inclusion of diddy kong kinda speaks volume for that. and u watch, ness and lucas will be big in the adventure mode.

edit: plus since lucas is japan exclusive, nintendo wouldnt put him over ness, there's people who dont even know lucas (like me).
