people talk alot of crap on this thread for never having touched the game haha why would oyu want to set yourself up for public embarrasment when you get owned. meh. just my two cents

thats got little to do with the matches you'll be playing.
1. the game has changed and 80% of the old melee tactics are out the window. the old auto combos are gone and new ones are in. its a whole new game
2. you dont KNOW your good. you dont even KNOW your good at melee. everyone is 'good' in their own little world of friends where you know everyone's tendencies from playing thousands of 4 stock FD battles. playing strangers and or actual pros will show you how good you REALLY are. they keep you in check. i'm no pro so i dont talk crap about my game. this is why i find it funny to read the ignorance of those who think they are good just because they own all their friends...
3. sandbagging runs the world of friendly smash matches and tricks our mind into thinking we're more competative than we are

@ spiff-ssbb: I agree with you, but it's fun to do this anyway. We all know it's just for fun!
I think I'm good at smash, but I'm certainly no pro. I still think I'll be able to put up one heck of a fight though.

i've played random people in nintendo world. i usually win. not all tactics are gone. and if the game online is laggy, then none of us will know how good we are against the world. only one point is valid mostly, and thats the 1st one. |

Thank goodness online isn't laggy. I've seen videos of a US vs Europe vs Japan battle and it had hardly any lag. It will be sweet=P
