Add each other as a friend and then try.

Either that or I'm missing something here.

I'm guessing that only one of them have internet and that they both want to be online at the same time. Unless you can do that on one console?

Either way. I don't think it would work with the same router. You probably have to use another router.

I wish I had a friend with a Wii to test this, but a probable fix may be setting up options for a Virtual Server in your router. I don't know the port used personally but I'm sure it's somewhere if you poked around. And just to clarify, you wouldn't need another router, at the worst you would need another internet connection. Hope this helps.

We could just come over to one - anothers house and play with 2 controllers on the same wii. But its easier this way and its a problem that needs to be solved otherwise. The router is linksys, we both can connect to wfc on ssbb, we have eachother added, and the ports are oppened. We have eachother in the fried roster added, when 1 of us try to join the others game, it just says "Joining the match" It will say that for about 2 minutes, then it will say something similar to this. Either your friend status has changed or your friend has removed you from the roster. Please make sure you are still connected to wfc. But we have had no problem having people join our games, or us joining other peoples games. Hope this is enough info

How could it possibly be easier to play online? If you're close enough to use the same router, you're close enough to walk over. Its much more fun when your in person too.

exactly my point

But i really don't think it works because me & my friend also use the same router and we can never join each others room.

Everyone has their opinions and reasons. The point is, can you answer my question? Can both wii's be connected to the same router and still play together. Not to suggest things that are off the subject, i don't mean to be rude but, i just want to figure this out. I like learning experiences. As far as i know though. The answer is no. Reason, i have no clue.

My stab at a reason is because when the match is made the Wii's become directly connected (hence when someone drops all do) and 1 Wii/IP is selected as the host. This host then see's it's own incoming IP and drops it, possibly a loopback guard. And/or this could be a security measure on Nintendo's part against hijacking someones connection, or maybe not, it could be an oversight in their infrastructure. Could be anything but these seem like good possibilities.
