I definitely did not buy a wii for ssbb. I was really getting sick of the 360 where I would buy a game for $70, the multiplayer is half-assed and the single player is short and not fulfilling. There are exceptions however, I love COD4 8 ).

I bought a Wii because I love all the series and games made by Nintendo, and I wondered what they would be like on a different console. Brawl may have been a deciding factor, it may have helped but I enjoy the Zelda series much more for example.

And I am not selling my Wii because the games continue to come out (Mario Kart) and will soon be on their way (Animal Crossing, Pikmin, F-Zero, StarFox etc.) I will be buying a 360 or PS3 soon though, just when I get all the cash for one.

i bought the wii because I love all of nintendo's stuff and when the wii was first coming out i was frothing at the mouth at the prospect of motion controls and it just looked so fantastic. i was lucky enough to find one at a K-Mart at like 730am.

I've since steadily increased my library and am still buying wii games constantly. I did get SSBB just last week and cannot stop playing, i love that game!

I wonder...if so many people bought their wii for SSBB, then how many bought there 360 for halo 3? or a ps3 for god of war?

I really get tired of people passing off one console or the other as a one-trick pony. I mean sure Brawl might be a deciding factor for a few in purchasing a wii but there is much more to the console than that one particular game.

I mean sure Halo 3 was good, but was it alone worth shelling out for a 360?

or is God Of War good enough to warrant the costs of a ps3?

Yes granted there are more quality titles coming to both of those systems that the wii will not see (Resident evil 5, MGS4, GTA, DMC and Final Fantasy)

When they are affordable I will purchase a 360 and those 6 games, but not until the price justifies the purchase..

And also there is one thing that all those type-casting the wii as a SSBB-Box forget to mention...Virtual Console. And I bet there isn't a perron on these forums who can say that there isn't a single game they're offering that doesn't spark at least some nostalgic urge to download and play at least one of those games again.

So before you bad-mouth a system as having little of value to offer, why not look into everything it can do before passing judgment.

ive got to be honest...yesterday I sold my 360 and bought a wii just for SSBB, come to find out i was just in time to get Mario Kart Reserved and hope its worth it. SSBB isnt really what I thought it would be...Online at least from my expirence is non existence and if I do randomly find someone...I lag slightly which is just enough to give the other person the slight advantage..

All in all I loved Xbox live but I just had to play some SSBB.

i didn't buy my wii just for brawl, but if brawl was the only game that interested me, i would have........

Brawl was a factor, but really it was the Virtual Console feature. I love the Zelda and Metroid Series.

Did I buy a Gamecube just for Melee? No. Did I buy an Xbox just for halo 2? Nope. Why would you buy a console just for one game? It's a waste to me. You should definitely check out what else it could do.

I bought it for mp3, SMG, MKWii, etc. etc. etc. but not EES EES BEE BEE.

I don't like a lot of these overhyped games that literally sell consoles like gta, god of war, halo, ssbb, mgs4 etc.

sometimes they are good though.

I really want an f-zero more than anything else for the wii.

Don't buy a ps3. I got one, I had the 60 GB like the one that came out the year the wii did it broke 8 months later. Buy a 360 it took me 2 and a half years to get the Red Ring.
