1v1 brawl league

hmmm idk if that should manditory seeing how people choose their characters willingly and they do so because they think thats their best user or they want to get better with that user. to put a tier bonus on that seems ridiculous to me.
although i don't thing the idea is a failure, i think that maybe if you guys want this so bad as to ague and formulate plans and settings then why not have a day where when people challenge each other and they have to use random and then add the tier system, to me that seems much more fair, especially since we have players like ck who can probably beat us with anyone.

Fixed. :P I can own you with Meta, if you've forgotten. :P My mains beat your mains. Subs (or in this case, randoms) don't matter in terms of the score, unless you're accounting for an average of skill.

If you're willing to keep track of points, Real-o, then by all means, go for those bonuses. And about the Edge Hog bonus, I think there should be a +1 for that. Simply because you can't easily edgeguard someone, it takes skill. Why reduce for that, especially when the league already accepts edgeguarding? :P

I have a feeling GC is going to bitch at my opinion of edgeguarding. :P

CK, I beat your MK with mines like 2 or 3 times on the first day that I started training MK. Last time we played I beat your MK with my Wolf. Then when I ask you for friendlys you tell me that you are tired and we end up talking about Yugioh TCG, Edgehogging, and gay marriage.

I don't think that you should get points for edgehogging. It's not an impressive way to kill someone. How about you get a point for KOing with a meteorsmash or a footstool?

Impressive or not, it takes skill to do a successful edgeguard. No offense, but you fail at it, you couldn't edge guard for your 3 stocks (lolfailpun). That shows that it takes skill. :P Just like a Meteor Smash or a footstool.

Its not fair (pichu im using you as an example) if pichu has his main & sub main in low tier and always gets double points. Meaning me & ck who use high tier get half that. MEANING pichu could easily become champion of the league point wise with no effort at all. Lets say ZeroSuitowner came back (The league noob) And pichu played him and beat him 5 times... Pichu would get +100 points for beating a noob with his main
And thus if he did that agian hed become champion. That is in no way fair at all.

I meant if the match is won overall (either 2-0 or 2-1), there's an extra 10 points. But yeah, the points could always be less.

Taking your (everyone) input into consideration, here is the updated, revised proposed list of bonuses and their proposed point values. I'd love to add more if anyone has any more good ideas. All opinions of bonuses and their values are welcome, even if you think it's perfect (which I doubt), say so. I'm not trying to rush anything but I'd like to decide if we're gonna use these before I make the next videos.

Okay... how about this for all the people who want extra points.

People can have a Random Official where each person chooses random.
Points go like this:

Winner.......Loser
High tier vs. High tier: 10 points
High tier vs. Middle tier: 10 points
High tier vs. Low tier: 10 points
Middle tier vs. High tier: 11 points
Middle tier vs. Middle tier: 10 points
Middle tier vs. Low tier: 10 points
Low tier vs. High tier: 12 points
Low tier vs. Middle tier: 10 points
Low tier vs. Low tier: 10 points

To have a random match you have to set it up in advance on this forum, so that there can be no complaining that you didn't know. It's random, so it's unlikely someone will get their main. This only applies if both people agree to have a random match.

EDIT: Don't anyone get discouraged from setting up matches. Even though people are discussing the point system, the league is still open to anyone who wants to start Brawling each other.

I don't think it would be that bad. I don't think someone is gonna get 250% damage or break a shield or not use any smash attack every match, let alone the less common ones like not taking any damage. I don't mind putting in some extra work if it will make it more fun for everyone. The points were all +1 to +3, do you need a calculator to add that? Lol. :P

@Bio: If we do implement this, I'd recommend keeping the bonus points separate from the points earned by winning matches and then add them together for the "final" score for each player. I dunno if that would make it easier for you, but I think that's what I would do.

Lol no u. Alright I'm all for it if your gonna do the math. One thing though, I'd take those the 250% dmg and not use any smash attack out cause I really don't see any of those happening in a match.

The edgehogging is fine for me and the smash-less one seems impossible oh and keep 150% in because im scoring that every match thanks to my ability to DI

I think the shield breaking bonus should be +2, simply because putting on shield pressure in Brawl isn't all-that easy (unless you're Marth, and even then spamming B won't make it easy :P). I havn't broken anyone's shield in awhile, and when I do, it's usually a match for lulz (random, low tier characters, items, etc.).

Aside from that, I'd say it's all perfect.

You forgot Top and Bottom tier. :P Not to mention there's more tiers than that, now. As far as I know, the tier list has turned into a letter system for most lists.
