No, didn't get to go to Pound. I just know what happened because we talked about it (my friends). I am going to the big tourney in Georgia next month though. Finally get to play some of these pros. Pretty much all the big names are going.

and to bob:
Falco used less glitches than any other upper tier character so your example simply exploits the fact that you don't know what your talking about. The double laser SH isn't a glitch it was designed into the game mechanics. as was the shffl as it was in smash 64 as well. the falco game was about constant pressure... which is not a glitch... obviously.
and take any of those '12 nerds in a basement' give them each a pichu and one stock. and they'll beat you in a 4 stock match every single game. don't talk down to these 'nerds' for being awesome at a game just cause your not as good. your on a gaming forum. your a nerd to my friend
edit: and to prez:
i don't think their going to know who M2K or PC are. but were you at that tourney? or did you just youtube it?

Or you could be a gramer, which is a good thing at this point. Being a glitch happy Nintendo nerd doesn't seem to be working out so much. Anyway Brawl is really a lot better, more accommodating to the true pro or the newbie or guys in the middle(myself). Melee was awkward as was the whole special tactics thing. Nintendo doesn't think that deep at all, Sakurai less(hello, kirby wtf).
It didn't seem purposefully implemented so I never used it(glitches/so called tactics).
The game was directed for the younger audiences as something to do in their spare time, not something to get overly serious about and drown in. I never treated it that way. It wasn't meant to be treated that way. Serious games are like GTA or Halo or even Zelda.
A true pro can adapt and not whine.

Peach of course. It's not until mid June though.
Actually here:
http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=162644
Realistically I know I'm not going to do that well, it's just for a fun experience. I can keep up with the GTA smash scene alright, but even our provinces best (who I can't touch) can't touch the pros. But it'll still be a fun time. Plus the whole GTA smash community is going so we have people car pooling there.

You are basically talking in opposite speak. Melee is the one that is a lot more serious, and Brawl is the one that is more for new comers, and younger audiences. Hence the ease to just pick it up and play.

i agree it is meant for a younger crowd. but it should be for both. melee could easily have been both. if your at peace with being noob you'll be at peace with getting owned by pros. no need to simplify the game so much.
and why do you have to talk about the glitch happy nerds as if their more nerd for it? lol whats the harm in liking something that much? flip people. grow up. i would kill to have the time they have to examine smash games in the depth they do
to Prez:
aaah a mid tier mainer, very nice.
ya i have a couple friends of friends who went to the GTA tourneys. and judging by their skill compared to mine, and the pro's skill compared to theirs, I don't think my sheik is tourney ready lol But you never know. i might get back into melee some day and hit up a tourney. but i got into the melee scene too late. it was only last year around this time when i started playing religiously.
edit!:
holy.. i checked the thread... silent wolf... Gimpy... Chu... this tourney's big man. I'll look forward to youtubing it.

Yeah, well if I had that time I'd use it to get more $. Money makes the world go 'round. Smash, not so much.

I didn't start going to tourneys until last year in around December. But I am a firm believer that you can play as much as possible, but once you get to a certain point, you will not advance until you start going to tourneys. And that speaks from experience. I feel like every tourney I go to I learn more. It's never too late to start.
And the GTA scene is great for starting too. There are a lot of tournaments for Melee and Brawl all the time. At least a few a month. You should definitely come out some time.

Actually this month looks pretty bad for the GTA. I don't think there's any Melee tourneys planned until a lot later in the month. Plus I'm too busy this month to go to tourneys. I'll let you know though if I do.

Oy someone unleashed the rath of Prez lol
OK well I've read the posts and it looks like lots of people are being hippocrits , becuase your saying that Brawl doesnt take skill yet they peopel who are saying tha are good at brawl. So are you saying that you have no skill while brawl and it is all luck? Its kinda wierd IMO becuase Your saying brawl lacks skill but you instead are good at brawl soo does that mean you have no skill?!?!
I'm goign with brawl on this one still becuase i didnt play melee sersouly ever lol. But i do believe that in time brawl will become bigger than melee

not that it requires no skill. just less depth in gameplay than melee... meaning that the skill is somewhat limited
