Top Tier
They held the SSBB tournament. It was epic. Too bad their footage wasn't. Anyways you can see the best characters in the game, played in the best ways possible. Next time you want to win a match, consider picking one of these characters. Practice makes perfect. The worst character in the tournament was Olimar, if anyone was curious. I competed in it. Didn't make it far, but got plenty of info on who was the worst and best. Many argue Luigi and Wolf were the best picks.

Meta Knight
Ike
(Removed) R.O.B.- I think the footage makes it clear even with skill, ROB's Smash Ball, and move set does not compete enough with the others. Still a very deadly character to choose.

It is kinda iffy, but with items on, it's still anybody's game. It's still as much about skill as it would have been with the items off, although the Smash Ball was unneccessary.

lol yes this was not a pro tourney by any stretch of the imagination.. not saying there's anything wrong with that... but it shouldn't be taken into consideration when making a tier list

I was in the tournament. I saw the results. Snake didn't do too well. I'm not sure why. I didn't watch every match, but I saw the results through their chat room, with the moderators. Those characters were top teir all the way. The only minus was Gamespot's poor coverage.
If you want something more official, then wait for the EVO tournament later this year. August 8th-10th.

Jazzman9 those weren't just the picks of the finalists. Every game those characters were chosen they had a better win/loss ratio than any other character. Also to get to the finals you had to play all the way through without losing a single match(stock 5 lives). There were no rematches. Over 255 people signed up for that tournament. But hey... If you think you're better, sign up for the EVO tournament, and quit crying about how much better you think you are. Prove it.

I find Diddy Kong far more agile and faster then Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong would not be on the top tier list for me.

I don't think any of the people at the tournament really knew much about the game. I had a bit of a "wtf" moment when one of the narrator guys said that the dragoon requires 4 parts. I've only ever needed 3.
