Am I the only one that finds super smash brothers brawl difficult? Granted I never played any of the other brawls, but I can't seem to do any of the combo type moves or the finishing ones. I basically just go out and mash all kinds of buttons hoping that helps, but its no fun that way. I have tried taking my time and getting them down and could do them if I wasn't being attacked but when in actual combat they never work.!
Maybe I just need more gameplay

It's a game that takes luck, skill, timing, ect. So the skill part you will have to work at, the others come naturally. You'll get better in time, so don't think it's too hard and give up, because...well...that's sad.

Go to practice mode and get the gist of the button controls. Also, it's way easier to play with a Gamecube controller as the configuration is:
A- Standard Attack
B- Special Move (i.e. Mario's fireball)
Holding Control Stick Left and A- Smash Attack left
Holding Control Stick Right and A- Smash Attack Right
Holding Control Stick Up and A- Up Smash Attack
Holding Control Stick Down and A- Down Smash Attack
B and left/right- Side Special Move
B and Up- Jump Attack/Recovery
B and Down- Down Special
C-Stick- Hit Stick
R/L= Shield
Z= Grab

yeah ive been thinking of getting a gamecube controller, b/c I find the controls with the wii remote to be a little difficult...I'm not giving up and I have only played for maybe 5 hours total, so maybe I'm just a little to quick to say, but it is tough

In my opinion the Wii remote controls work horribly with the game. Trust me, the Gamecube controller is the easiest and most fundamental way to play.

i thought it was kinda cheap to use the gc controller, just cuz i had gotten like super good at melee and figured i might as well relearn the controls on a new controller.
and besides. if ur in a situation where somebody doesn't have a gc controller, what are you gonna do?!

Bring a Gamecube controller with you. Also, I don't see using the Gamecube controller as 'cheap'. I see it as a more traditional way to play, in which Smash Bros. veterans would either approve or disapprove. And in which case, I've seen more approve of the traditional control scheme.

practice makes perfect
and guys the gamecube is only best if you played melee otherwise its another control scheme. to each their own MangaGamer was a great melee player but now he uses classic controller which is the only other option
Am i the only person who cant find anyone to play against online. I go onto play anyone then spend christ knows how long punching a bag while it looks for opponents. Longest I have done this so far before giving up is 25 mins. Have tried 2-3 times a day since friday and have so far failed to find a single opponent. Am I doing something wrong. I know its not my internet connection else it wouldnt connect to Nintendo WFC and having no probs with mariokart
