I suck at brawl

I have tried playing and can't seem to get any of the final moves down....I can do the basics and mash buttons very well, but I can never get any of the combos to work...that is when I want to use them....I guess I just need to play more and practice more!

The combos are simple. But button mashing will not help you in Brawl. Brawl is not like every other fighting game.

When you get a final smash ball, just press B.

Or never play with them on, that works. too.

you have to have a "ball" to do a final smash?? maybe thats why I can never do one!!!

just find a character you like a play with the computer at level 5 or 4 and work your way up to 9

btu keep in mind that the CPU is a cheap baastid with impossible reaction time. with that said, combos that work on the CPU in terms of speed will likely work on a player.

You should try to practice as some relatively easy characters to use, a.k.a. Mario, Ike, and some others. But really it all depends on how you like to play and which character suits you best. And practice is key, my friend. None of us started off as good as we are now.

like what everone else said it takes time and practice if u like some who is good at short range stick with person until u can pull off something sweet

find the character that comes naturaly to you first then practice with that fighter

THis is my suggestion: Play as little against computers, and as much against humans as you can. Computers play completely differently, and are really easy to learn to beat. A level 9 computer is still really easy to win, especially through meteors and edge-hogs. And if you play computers too much, you become like a robot...

Just keep playing, and develop your own style. Don't bother learning combos, in the end you should be able to make them as you go. And use ALL characters. Trust me, it will help a ton. It lets you learn how each character fights, and that way gives you an advantage against whoever your opponent. Something else: If you're not very good, STAY AWAY FROM THE C-STICK! It's a horrible habit to get into, using the c-stick.

It's crucial you learn to dodge and shield. And then later, meteor smashes and such, but for now, just keep fighting.

What happens to you, may not happen everybody else you know... I've been playing since it's launch (and melee before that), and I still play it every weekend with my friends, and I think it's a great game. Single player is crazy boring though.

I prefer Brawl over Melee. =P I never really had anyone to play Melee with, but with Brawl I can go online and play any one of a number Aussie WC members for some awesome matches. Much better then constantly beating the CPU...
