Hi,

Reading this forum, I see a lot of people who have Brawl code on the signature. Meaning many must play it.

I read a little bit about this game, and I'm not sure I'd like it. But before dismissing it completely, I would like to have some inputs.

What is the game all about? A combat game where you smash the enemy until death but with Nintendo characters and special effets? Is it all that is about it?

I like Mario Kart for the Wii, and I'm currently playing the Mario Paper 64 game. So, basically that is the kind of game I like. Is brawl for me?

Thanks for commenting.

It's partly true I guess. But this one had a really nice adventure mode where it takes you through HEAPS of different levels, it is pretty fun..

IGN has a good review.

Brawl is an excellent game if you ask me. Yes, it is a game all about fighting with Nintendo characters, with ofcourse the special additions of Sonic and Solid Snake. It's not like Tekken or Soul Calibur though, you don't move in circles or anything, all on a single plain.

However, you don't have health, you have a percentage meter. When you're hit by an attack, your percentage gets higher. The higher it is, the further you go flying when hit. Once you go completely off the stage, you lose a life(matches can have varrying amount of lives, you control this), or your score goes down by one, if you're in timed matches.

However, if you aren't thrown off screen completely, you might be able to use your character's specialty's to get back onto the stage and live to fight another day, so it doesn't end very quickly.

Fighters are really, really vast and different. Some are fast and light, others are really heavy and hard to send flying, and hit really hard. Some fight really close up, others use weapons and even things like guns and missles from a distance.

It has tons of variety in characters, 35 in fact. And that's NOT counting the tons of different forms you get for certain characters! Like with pokemon trainer, you have 3 different pokemon to use. And Samus Aran can ditch her weaponry to gain a new weapon and get much faster.

Even better, this game doesn't make you memorize combos. You can use a huge variety of any attacks at any time, and each character has completely different moves! You can block ofcourse, and even perform 4 different throw per character.

It might sounds complicated, but it's really easy to pick up and learn, and really really fun. The mode gpoleweski mentioned is pretty long, maybe about 6 hours to beat it and unlock the special characters. Still, that's not all.

There's online gameplay, and while it's not very good considering lag when you're fighting other people with bad connections and lack of options, if you can find some friends who are online alot you'll have a blast.

Also, there are really cool features like My Music, which lets you mess with alot of different music options for each stage, or the Custom Stage builder, where you can make your OWN stage to fight on! A heads up, you can't use these stages online sadly.

There's also different modes, regular brawl, classic mode, All star mode, adventure mode, and online mode. All of this should keep you playing for a very long time.

Sorry to make the post so long, I hope you could read it, lol. If you can find a place to rent the game, you should do so. Because while the majority of people love Brawl, it can be hit and miss with some. If you've ever played a super smash brothers game before and liked it, you'll LOVE this game. Guarenteed.

Cool. 40$ is pretty good for Brawl. I hope you like the game just as much as I do! There's no doubt in my mind you'll like it. And if by some supernatural freak bad miracle occurance you don't (it won't happen) it'l definatly sell good on eBay, so it's pretty much a win win situation. And if you ever have any questions about the game, you can always ask me. I'm always glad to help.

I'll see, and maybe we'll be able to play together over the Internet!

That'd be cool. I could help show you the ropes too, considering I'm pretty good, nothing special ofcourse. You might want to tackle the adventure mode(also known as the Subspace Emisary) first ofcourse, it'l help you get used to the controls. Either way it's one of those games that's easy to learn, hard to master. My kind of game.

Dood, if u have brother or sisters or whatever, you must buy it its an awesome game, go get it now, if you're alone most of the time I'd consider another game, brawl is a good game when played with other people, since online is kinda crappy well... solo playing isnt that fun

I really love this game. It's one of those games when you have so many different options and things to do you just get totally addicted. I actually think the online is alright since you can get some matches that are really fun to just own random people.
