Can't save replays

During the wifi battles with my friends, i press Z to save right?
Sometimes , when i press Z, it doesn't work.
Sometimes it does.
you know why?

Replays can only be like 2 minutes long

Correction, 3 minutes long. I tried saving one that was 3 minutes long exactly, but it failed.. -_-; Was a good fight too..
