I recently bought a sharp LC-42D72U, and I'm getting obvious horizonal lines when using component cables at 480p. When setting the Wii back to regular 480i, there are no lines. Look at this BS:

Any idea why this is? It's extremely distracting, and I'm hoping it's an issue with the Wii, as opposed to the T.V. I have no other problems like this with DVDs, TV, etc.

That sounds backwards!

Actually since your TV is 1080P native, ALL signals are either displayed native (if they're 1080P originating) or upconverted to 1080P. It looks like there's something weird happening with the 480P upconvert vs. the 480i.

Almost like some timing error - it's my understanding that some Wii games double buffer and prodice 60 progressive frames (hence the "smoother" animation) or generate the same number of fields for 30 FPS on interlaced configuration.

Weird.

It might be your cables. I have a 46 inch Sony Bravia 1080p. Looks great.
