Adding a Wii Friend

If someone adds me as a Wii Friend (from my console number)
What do I do to add him (From his console number)

I tried going to the Message board thing but that didnt allow me to send messages. or share miis

simply click on the wii button on the bottom right at the wii menu and then go to the address book and then to register i think.
