Arbiter's Grounds, Big Key

I have made it through the whole area called the Arbiter's Grounds - (The dungeons in the desert) I have used the spinner to open the door next to the area with the big key - I have used the spinner to make the extra rail appear in that room - BUT for some reason I can't get to the big key - I can stand in the doorway and see the chest on the other side of the room but I can't get to it - What's the deal? I can't get the spinner to connect to the rails that run over to the key - They are too high and i have ended up in the sand pit a dozen times trying - Any help would be appreciated.

Arbiter's Grounds - Spinner Room
New Dungeon Item: Big Key

Open the chest in front of you as you enter to get the Big Key, then use one of
the Spinner Tracks near the chest to cross to the west end of the room. You're
now back in the large room which you couldn't really do anything in before. Go
to the center of the room, where there is a large hole. Ride into this hole on
the Spinner, and you can begin to rotate the wall in the room by rapidly
tapping the Spin button.

Once the new area is opened, run north into it. This is a large, circular room
with a tall pedestal in the middle. A Spinner Track runs counter-clockwise
around the room, starting to the left. Ride around it a full 360 degrees,
until are you on the west side of the room above the central pedestal. Get off
the Spinner here, landing on a broken stairwell. Jump towards the central
pedestal, aiming for the ledge that sticks out of it. Roll or Dash before
jumping to get yourself some needed distance.

Once you're on the central pedestal, enter a Spinner Slot in the middle of it
while riding the Spinner. Tap the Spin button rapidly, and a new Spin Track
will appear that rises towards the top of the room. Ride it up. Go through
the Boss Door at the top.

Right after I finally figured all of this out and YES I DID GET THE BIG KEY... Ta-da - I came over and checked my computer and found your reply - Thanks - but after going mental for a few hours - the wonderful relief of having the big key has swept upon me --- or across me or something like that....
Now I am going to battle the big kahuna with the nasty skull and bones in the sand.... oh boy.
