Atari has today unveiled new screens from forthcoming Wii game Centipede Infestation. The arcade shooter is a reimagined version of the classic gaming franchise, designed specifically for the Wii and 3DS. The game features an expansive new world with seven environments, 40 stages and five boss battles. Players get to choose from over 20 different weapons and power-ups with which to battle against more than 20 different types of bugs, in an immersive adventure with an intriguing storyline, revolving around Max, the hero and bug slayer, whose duty it is to defend Maisy, a green-fingered girl whose gardens bring life back to a ruined planet that has been turned into a wasteland. That means plenty of squashing action as you take on such fierce and pesky creepy crawlies as giant mutated centipedes, spiders, beetles, grubs, caterpillars, moths, and many more. Weapons at your disposal include the Lightning Orb Gun, Nuke Cannon, Freezethrower, and Mine Launcher. You can also use the bodies of dead bugs to craft new defences and power-ups such as turret guns and barricades, those that you don’t stomp into oblivion, of course!
No release date as yet for this, but it should be soon, so for now feast your eyes on the screenshot!
