Find a picture you like on your computer or save one.
Go onto 'user CP', click 'edit avatar' then click 'browse', find the picture you want and press 'upload'.

I know, I did a bucket fill to ugly color on the white bg. Select by color, grow selection by 1 px. Edit >> Clear. Save as png with no compression. Same thing.
