badly in need of help

I tried to connect mywii to the internet for the first time today using a wired setup. The innitial connection test passes successfully and then immediately asks me to perform an update. When i click yes the update starts but nothing happens, ive tried unplugging and replugging but the same happens. The update screen just stays there and even the scroll bar does not move. Left it for an hour and still nothing :mad5:

I have a bt voyager 205 adsl router with very fast connection.

Can somebody please help me.

P.s my xbox 360 works fine online with the same connection.:wtf:

I had this problem with one of my updates... It turned out that the server was just busy with the sheer volume of users. I wuold suggest trying at a time when it is quieter!! like when everyone else is sleeping! lol.

That is what I did and it worked ok.

It doesn't matter what router you are using. If you are able to connect to the internet on your wii with it then you should be able to update it!

ok. So last night i left my wii on the update screen all night 7 hours.

Still nothing just looks as if its trying to update :mad5: :mad5: :mad5:

does the ethernet cable have to be patch or crossover?
