Black lines onscreen - dirty laser? How to clean?

1st time poster. Love the show.

I'm starting to get little black lines showing up (especially MarioGalaxy) and I'm wondering if its a common problem or if maybe its a dirty laser? If so what methods are there to clean the laser lens - because a typical DVD cleaning disc with a brush won't read in the drive.

Seems to be the "Sparkles" which is the appearence of distorted pixels when there is an abundance of dust or cloud on the screen. Also looks to be internal rather then the game disk being faulty. I've read that its been a common problem with people who've left their WiiConnect24 on for long periods of time.

If thats the case then the only way to get rid of the distorted pixels would be to send it back to Nintendo for repair =/
