Blue glowing light problems

I was told that when I receive an e-mail or system update the blue light on my Wii would illuminate.

I went into my options on the Wii connect24 part and set the blue light to the "bright" setting where it was originally off. I was reading the "tips and tricks" thread on this forum and it said that by emailing yourself from your PC, your light would illuminate.

I did so and when I went upstairs to check on my Wii there was no illumination, but an email was in my inbox and un read. Has anybody else experienced this?

By the way, I did check my settings after this and the blue light was set to bright still.

you need to register your pc email address as other in your wii address book.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to that address.com

Oh, did you have the wii on in the menu? or was it on standby? because it needs to be on standby to see the blue light.

I've done that and yes my Wii was on standby.

I did however recieve the glowing blue light this morning when somebody messaged me from their Wii console, but why not the e-mail?

My light has just come on at the Wii Menu.

False alarm. I just checked my Wii and there is no blue slot.

So it ONLY GLOWS ON STANDBY???? Or when you have a message, correct??
